Bubinga wood is used to make high-end furniture, turning, veneers and musical instruments. It is a red wood with a very marked grain and often complex and twisted drawing.

It is quite resistant to moisture and rot, as well as to many of the insects that attack wood.

It is hard but easy to work with, although it has a certain amount of silicon and tends to dull the edge of the tools quickly.
