Etimoe wood color varies from slightly reddish brown to dark brown. It is a stable and hard wood, one of the most resistant in the world compared to its weight.

Resistant to weather and several types of insects, including termites, which makes it suitable for outdoor use.

It is frequently used for making furniture and floors, but also for turning and sheet metal.

As a curiosity, the resin from the bark of the etimoe is aromatic, and was originally used as a natural perfume.
