African wood with a color that varies between light brown and grey, with a very differentiated black vein and sometimes greenish tones. It is similar to bubinga wood in terms of work and applications.

It works comfortably although its silica content wears the blades faster than other woods.

Commonly used for turning and furniture making, but due to its characteristics it is also a wood widely used to make guitars (in lutherie it is often called Ovangkol).
