Dried Monterey Pine wood plank, planed and squared. Manually selected.
Monterey Pine wood is light in color, almost white. It is somewhat more yellowish in the sapwood and tends towards light brown in the heartwood and grain. The grain is straight and the boards are generally free of knots and resin, unlike most conifers.
It is very easy to work with hand tools or machinery. It has no problem with gluing or finishing.
It is commonly used in the manufacture of beams, exterior carpentry, veneers for boards and paper pulp due to its low cost and rapid growth. However, since it is a very uniform wood, easy to work with and with few defects, it is perfectly valid for making furniture, turning and many other applications.
