Very heavy and resistant African wood, with a striking color between orange and reddish brown. The hardness of the talí complicates the work since it quickly wears down the edge of the blades. In return, it is a suitable wood for outdoor use and is especially resistant to insects.

Frequently used for exterior structures, including bridges and water mains. It is also frequently seen in flooring and other applications that take advantage of its hardness, although it is a stable and visually pleasing wood that can also be used to make furniture.

As a curiosity, medicinal compounds are extracted from the talí bark with application as an analgesic and for the treatment of heart diseases.
