Zebrano wood is appreciated for its striking contrast between the golden and brown color of its grain, which sometimes seems to have been painted by hand.

In general it is a hard and heavy wood, compared to traditional woods.

The light and dark parts are of quite different hardness, which can complicate the job.

Produces a characteristic odor when cutting the wood, perhaps a bit unpleasant.
