Valsaín pine or red pine is a wood widely used for construction, floors, and treated exteriors, but it is also used for the production of rustic furniture or structures.

The reddish brown color of the heartwood contrasts with the light yellow of the sapwood. It usually has a lot of resin and gives off a very recognizable smell.

It is very easy to work with and accepts finishes and glues without problems. The resin may stain the blades, but it is a soft wood and does not particularly damage the edges.
