Wood known for its uniform light color and its hardness and resistance. It is used for furniture manufacturing, especially to contrast with other darker colored woods. It is also frequently used due to its hardness on floors, kitchen boards, or workbenches.

It is light yellow or white in color, very uniform although with a visible yellow-gray vein. He tends to make very colorful drawings, and waters or three-dimensional figures often appear, which are highly appreciated in furniture and musical instruments.

It is not difficult to work with, although it is much harder than other woods such as walnut or cherry.

The texture is fine and naturally shiny, and accepts almost any finish or stain without any problem.

As a curiosity, it is the same tree from which maple syrup is extracted, a sweet substance widely consumed in North America.
